I do so love a happy ending

Where to start, eh? Perhaps I’ll start with the shocking announcement – Kristen has won me over, she redeemed Bella for me. Well a bit anyway; still hating book Bella, just got a new found respect for Kristen’s portrayal of her. I got lost in the story rather than just being plain angry at the screen each time she appears.

It wasn’t just Stewart, the overall acting was just improved immensely (apart from Rob, but we’ll get to that a little later) Jasper didn’t look in constant pain, even if the look he gives when he smells the blood did make me laugh at the silliness of it. Surely going to a mixed school he’d be used to smelling blood now and again, if you know what I mean?!

There was some corniness alright, but I was so pleased with the visuals of the film I could easily forgive. The earthy, vibrant colours were stunning. I wanted to be Victoria as she ran, barefooted through that forest as her wild, red hair flew behind her in the wind. That was easily my favourite non-Sheen scene in the film. That and the pan of the camera as Sam Uley dives from the cliff into the sea below. Chris Weitz, I’m a fan and can not wait to see what you do next!

Brace yourselves, here comes the fan-girl part…Michael Sheen *SQUEEEEEE* Oh God, he was fantastic!!! My naughty dreams of Aro will only intensify now, oh yes! In fact, I was in slight danger of ruining myself when he got all up in Bella’s face. The hands, dear Lord, wanting to touch her but not quite. Sexy! I would have jumped him then and there. The others want to watch as he savaged me? (in the words of Jacob Black) “sure, sure”. I really wouldn’t have minded!  Could definitely see the Blue Meanie vibe going on. Or should that be ‘hear’ the vibe, as he’s voice was perfect for Aro. A sweet, light sound that brushed over you, like he hands as he reads you *fan-girl part of me dies*, but a hint of the dangerous lying not far from the surface. I only wish he had more screen time.  Hell, I wish all the Volturi had more screen time, they got an average of about two lines each. Shame, I was looking forward to Caius, guess I’ll just have to wait to see him shine in Breaking Dawn.

Now, for the moaning: Pattinson, what the hell was that? I defended you, you fecker! People put you down, said you couldn’t act for shit. I held up my hand and said, no, he has something. He was great as Diggory and so good in How to Be. Twilight was just very bad directing. I have nothing to say in his defence. What the fuck was that grunting shit beside the truck just after the party? Being tortured by Jane. I nearly pissed myself! (And not in the good, ruin myself due to Sheen, way)

Overall, I just felt like it surpassed the last film by miles, I do think I may even go see it again. Sit and watch Michael with another shit eating grin. Great way to spend a cold, windy night, me thinks!
